The Exhibition Development Fund (EDF) program supports the Victorian arts sector with grants of up to $10,000 to Victorian arts organisations who wish to develop new exhibitions of contemporary art, craft or design with the potential to tour.
Independent curators and artists are encouraged to apply through a partner organization and this is a wonderful way for smaller institutions to work with new and upcoming curators.
Funds can be used to assist development areas such as research, engaging an independent curator, artists’ commissioning or loan fees, exhibition design, audience development or publications and education kits. EDF grants are not available to support touring costs.
The Exhibition Development Fund is an opportunity to work with new ideas, take risks and be innovative.
NETS Victoria’s EDF grants are made available from funds specifically devolved through Creative Victoria. Grants can support development costs such as research, curatorial or artists’ fees, publications or exhibition design, furniture and technology. Recipients are encouraged to work in close dialogue with NETS Victoria throughout the development stages of their project.
Applicants are encouraged to contact the NETS Victoria office on email@example.com or 03 8620 2002 to speak about their proposal prior to submitting.
The EDF is devolved annually, with applications closing this year on Monday 11 September, 2017.
The NETS Victoria Board of Management reviews all applications and the successful proposals will be announced and funds distributed within three months.
