Expressions of Interest: Green Wedge Public Art Incubator

Nillumbik Shire Council seeks creative ideas from artists or artist groups for the Green Wedge Public Art Incubator.

The program will support professional contemporary artists to advance their artistic practice through investigative public art projects that interpret the Green Wedge landscape and advance the creative capacity of the Shire and its community.

  • Artists are encouraged to be experimental and innovative in their approach.

  • All art forms and disciplines are welcome.

  • Individual or artist groups are eligible.

  • Artists are not required to have a previous connection to Nillumbik.
  • Artists are invited to work or exhibit in-situ at one or more of the three identified sites
    Hurstbridge Community Hub,
    Wadambuk St Andrews Community Centre,
    Nillumbik Community Bus

  • Projects should result in an ephemeral artistic outcome:

  • Projects need to incorporate a community engagement component.

  • Projects should demonstrate a connection to the Green Wedge natural environment, townships or communities.

  • Funds of up to $3,000 are available for each project.

  • Projects timeframes can vary; from a few days, weeks or months depending on the scope of each individual project; but need to be undertaken between June and October 2017.

Artist(s) are invited to submit an Expression of Interest that responds to the Artist Brief and are strongly encouraged to discuss their ideas with Council prior to submission by contacting or calling (03) 9433 3126.
