Backspace Gallery Seeking 2019 Exhibition and Curatorial Proposals

The Backspace Gallery is now accepting exhibition and curatorial proposals for the first half of 2019.

An initiative of the City of Ballarat, Backspace Gallery offers space in the heart of the CBD Arts and Heritage Precinct, hosting exhibitions in all visual art mediums.

We are seeking seeking proposals for exhibitions involving local / regional / out-of-area artists, emerging / mid-career / established artists, solo or group shows. We also are offering a limited number of commissioned curatorial opportunities for those wanting to develop an exhibition featuring work from diverse artists and examining a particular theme.

Backspace Gallery does not charge for the space, does not charge commission on sales, and provides exhibitors with professional installation and marketing support.

What YOU need to provide is original quality contemporary visual art, design or craft; the commitment to staff Backspace Gallery when it's open to the public (Thursday - Sunday, 12 - 4pm); a willingness to interact with Gallery visitors; and the willingness to collaborate with the Gallery Curator in publicising your exhibition.
