Expressions of Interest (EOI) from artists or artist teams within Western Australia are being sought for an external public artwork to be included within the new Karratha Health Campus.
The incorporation of art within a health campus environment not only benefits physical health and well-being but also has social, cultural, emotional and spiritual benefits. It is underpinned by a culture of care for the whole person and supports the well-being of patients as well as staff and visitors alike.
An opportunity for an external 3D artwork exists within the southern landscaping of the Karratha Health Campus. The artwork will be visible both from the pedestrian footpath and Warambie Road. Artists or artist teams must demonstrate a connection to Karratha and its surrounding region.
This artwork will sit alongside two wall based 3D works and a number of 2D works, already commissioned or directly purchased for the project, as well as those currently existing within the Western Australian Country Health Services collection.
The artwork will be commissioned through a process based upon the WA State Government’s Percent for Art Scheme, specifically commissioning through a Concept Design Stage.
