Willoughby City Council

Incinerator Art Space & Art Space on The Concourse

Willoughby City Council is inviting artists, artist groups and curators to submit exhibition proposals for either the iconic Incinerator Art Space or Art Space on The Concourse. Willoughby Council welcomes proposals from early career through to mid and long term practitioners. We encourage all artistic media as well as solo or group shows.

The semi-industrial Incinerator Art Space programs high quality, dynamic contemporary art exhibitions.  Willoughby Council is inviting innovative and timely exhibition proposals that would either be of interest to the Willoughby community, by artists who want to exhibit their practice to a north shore audience or are looking for an interesting site to respond to and exhibit in.

Incinerator Art Space is an iconic and heritage-listed Walter Burley-Griffin designed building that retains its strong Modernist style of architecture. The interior has been sensitively renovated to create a professional gallery space that lends itself to exhibit a broad range of contemporary art in a distinct environment. The Incinerator building also houses a café, making it an enjoyable and buzzing arts destination.

Art Space on The Concourse programs a range of high quality art, craft, cultural and design exhibitions.  Art Space on The Concourse is located in The Concourse, Sydney’s vibrant entertainment destination in the centre of the busy Chatswood retail & business district. Offering a professional gallery space, Willoughby Council encourages exhibitions from visual artists, designers and craft practitioners of any medium, through to community art groups and cultural organisations who appeal to an arts audience as well as the broader community.

Willoughby Council does not take a commission on artwork sales.

Submissions due by June 2, 2017 and applicants will be notified by June 30, 2017.

Visit and select Visual Arts to download the Exhibition Policy & Hire Guidelines for further details.
