Brisbane City Council – Wetlands and Migratory shorebirds Art Project 2018 - RFP.

Brisbane City Council (Council) is seeking Proposals for the delivery of the Wetland and Migratory Shorebirds Art Project 2018.

Council’s Wetland and Migratory Shorebirds Art Project 2018 celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Brisbane – Narashino Wetlands Affiliation Agreement through temporary art installations at three significant wetland locations.

Council invites all artists, producers, creative collectives and cultural organisations to submit a proposal to develop and deliver a temporary public outdoor creative activation in the three wetland locations from 6 October 2018, with each artwork lasting at least two weeks.

When developing the concept of the artwork, the artist must take into consideration the theme of the project, and must also be influenced by community engagement activities undertaken by the artist during the project.

The project theme is ‘Wetlands, Migratory Shorebirds and Global Partnerships’. The theme is open to the applicant’s own interpretation, however the below should be considered:

•             Brisbane-Narashino Wetlands Affiliation Agreement

•             Brisbane’s Migratory Shorebirds

•             East Asian-Australasian Flyway

•             Moreton Bay Ramsar site

Council’s Wetland and Migratory Shorebirds Art Project 2018 aims to celebrate the Brisbane – Narashino Wetlands Affiliation Agreement’s 20-year anniversary, and achieve the following:

The successful applicant will be contracted from 31 May 2018 to October 2018 and a fee of $40,000 GST exclusive will be paid to the successful applicant for the production and delivery of the Wetland and Migratory Shorebirds Art Project 2018.

Council will host one information session at Boondall Wetlands Environment Centre, 31 Paperbark Drive, Boondall, Qld. at the following times:

10am – 12pm Friday 27 April  2018
