ARTIST EOI: 3 x3 Art & Ecology Projects

Bankstown Art Centre is seeking artists to develop new works all about FOOD for the 3x3 Art & Ecology projects to showcased at the Bankstown Bites Festival in July 2017.

Artists proposals may consider the production and consumption of food; traditional cultural practises of food preparation and enjoyment; and/or issues of food sustainability and security. The new works will be exhibited at Bankstown Bites festival which attracts over 10,000 people each year. Bankstown is a mecca for diverse tastes and flavours, has a rich history of market gardens and a community of growers, still today many backyard and balcony gardens can be spotted in the region. Foodies from all over the Sydney and beyond come along to Bankstown Bites to take part guided food tours and cooking demonstrations and enjoy a diversity of food stalls.

Bankstown Art Centre is interested in artists who want to explore the over-looked aspects of the food we eat. We invite proposals from artists who work in a range of mediums: photography, video, sculpture, new media, sound, writing, performance, digital art and design to develop temporary site specific work. Use of recycled materials is encouraged.
