Data Wrangling On Set

AFTRS-Australian Film Television and Radio School (AH Account)

About the Course

This one day course is an introduction to managing data from file-based cameras in an on-set environment. Working in the AFTRS Studio, you will get an overview of all types of data and metadata from file-based cameras from manufacturers including Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, Arri & Red and you will learn how to prepare for and manage data confidently and responsibly in a high pressure on-set environment.

You’ll gain a thorough understanding of data as a ‘digital negative’ and feel comfortable about working with digital data on-set, managing data and delivering data in an appropriate format for post-production.

There will be a practical section where participants will gain experience in managing file-based data themselves. This course will be suitable for DOPs and experienced on-set camera assistants who are using file-based cameras. It is also suitable for anyone looking to move into the camera department as a Data Wrangler.

NOTE: THIS COURSE DOES NOT COVER DATA AND POST WORKFLOWS, WHICH IS COVERED IN ANOTHER COURSE, DATA MANAGEMENT IN POST
