AFTRS-Australian Film Television and Radio School
About the Course
Producing is about stories and the innovative and challenging ways in which they can be brought to the screen. In this intensive course, encompassing theoretical, practical, and strategic considerations in creative producing, you will hone your skills and sharpen your instincts in the development, financing, production and marketing of story ideas.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Producing encompasses entrepreneurial, creative, financial, leadership and marketing skills with the intent to initiate, develop and produce intellectual property for the screen. Through cross-disciplinary collaborative workshops and mentorships, students will be supported to be bold, take risks and experiment. They will refine a reflective practice that synthesises an understanding of their own creative perspective and knowledge of screen storytelling. Industry practitioners will contribute to the course work program, providing insights into their practice
In your second year, you will embark upon a funded creative project using AFTRS’ extensive production facilities to realise your vision. You will learn to document and analyse your process through research workshops leading to a four-week professional placement at the end of your degree.
