About the Course

Is your child interested in creating Videos for YouTube and perhaps having their own YouTube channel? Are you feeling a bit clueless about the basics in terms of shooting and editing quality images and uploading them to the web? Do you want to understand how YouTube channels work and how you can monetise them or use them to promote a message,cause or product? Then this course is for you!

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
You will learn:

  • How to set up a YouTube channel, get subscribers and likes, and eventually maybe even make some money

  • How to get more views for your videos and how to make your YouTube channel part of a Social media campaign

  • What are the legal and copyright facts you should know about publishing video content to YouTube

  • How to effectively shoot and edit (using a mobile device) good looking short segments including recording good audio

  • How to set up a simple Green Screen shoot at home

  • The different formats required for different social video platforms

During the course you'll hear directly from a Google rep about how to make the most of YouTube and have the opportunity ask all your "not-so-dumb" questions!

LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE

You don't need any filmmaking experience to do this course, but you will need to bring your own mobile device (iphone/ipad or tablet) and you will need familiarity with your own mobile device's interface and operating system. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED You should bring your own mobile smart device for this course, with a minimum of 8GB storage and most recent operating system installed. Ensure you have backed up your device before the course and ensured there is at least 50% storage space on the device.
