About the Course

Strengthen your voice as a storyteller and deepen your creative and technical skills, professional knowledge and practices in editing.

In a practice-based learning environment, you will develop a grasp of the filmmaking process, a command of the craft and the conceptual vocabulary necessary to communicate an editor’s vision.

In this course, you will:

  • focus on the key role and functions of the editor in storytelling for screen
  • be equipped with the knowledge and skills to meet the creative, conceptual, technical and procedural challenges involved in editing a screen production
  • explore how the juxtaposition and manipulation of images, sound and score can create meaning and emotions within a narrative.

Attendance Pattern: Tuesday and Thursday evenings, plus eight Saturdays on campus
