McGregor Winter School
About the Course
One of the regions favourite arts events, the McGregor Winter School will celebrate its 30 th Birthday next month!
For 50 years the McGregor Arts retreats have been a popular fixture on the University of Southern Queensland’s arts calendar, with the first Summer School taking place in 1967. The summer school was such a success that after 20 years a winter retreat was established as a slightly shorter art workshop series during the middle of the year.
For talented artists or learners alike, classes in Visual Art, Photography, Woodwork, Sculpture, Sewing & Millinery allow the McGregor Winter School to be the perfect arts retreat for people to create, make or just discover new skills. McGregor is an immersive artistic retreat for 5 magical days where people can select a course suited to their level in various mediums. The McGregor tutors are some of the country’s most eminent artists with a diverse and eclectic mix of classes. Here, they will share their craft in an intimate class setting at the Toowoomba campus of USQ.
Organiser Cassandra Stephan says; “We have a talented mix of visual and creative artists from around our country. You can learn and create, exchange ideas and immerse yourself in your choice of art for 5 full days. Come and celebrate the 30 th anniversary with us on Thursday 6 July from 6.30pm with markets and music.”
There are still a few places available for workshops at the 30 th McGregor Winter Arts Retreat at USQ Toowoomba, to be held from 3-7 July.
