Abdul-Rahman Abdullah

Perth artist Abdul-Rahman Abdullah asks “What would my mythology look like?” He is inspired by the question to understand his own identity and the role family plays in that.

The artist has had a meteoric rise in the last few years. Four years out of art school he has participated in an Australia Council JUMP mentorship with Sydney sculptor Alex Seton, featured in Tracey Moffatt’s Arts Calls TV pilot, won the Fishers Ghost Sculpture Prize, was featured at Melbourne Art Fair, produced a body of new work for a major group exhibition at the Australian Centre of Contemporary Art, and most recently was featured in Lisa Slade’s celebrated Magic Object Adelaide Biennale last year.
