Our regional and metropolitan galleries are some of the most inspiring spaces within our sector, and yet they often stand outside the “stage lights” of the art world.
Why that is remains a mystery, given that these cultural centres proportionally touch just as many people as the majors, impacting Australians at a grassroots community level – and successfully debunking the arts’ “elitist” tag.
