Art Gallery of South Australia Director, Nick Mitzevich, has a vision for a $260 million contemporary art museum that will bring 62,000 stored works to the public.

Sydney has one, Brisbane has one, Melbourne has one – even Hobart has one. These cities have a contemporary art museum separate from the state gallery.

While the impetus and vision driving each of these museums varies from city to city, the tourism and economic boost that they have added is without doubt.
