Fundraising has always been part of the brief for an arts organisation and at no time more than now, when government funding is so squeezed.

But keeping themselves afloat is not the only reason artists and arts organisations fundraise. A growing number are partnering with advocacy and not-for-profit organisations to raise funds for good causes. Some set themselves up as social enterprises, others run a single project for a targeted beneficiary.
