New taskforce to promote arts for successful ageing

A breakthrough in co-operation between arts, health and ageing departments will lead to improved research and services for creative ageing.

Last week, NSW Ministers for Health, Ageing and the Arts came together in one room. The occasion was the Celebrate Creative Ageing conference held at the Sydney Opera House, and the outcome was the commitment to establish a government taskforce on Creative Ageing.

Margret Meagher, Executive Director, Arts and Health Australia (AHA) and Director of The Australian Centre for Arts and Health said their presence was a major breakthrough for the sector.
