Art school merger is off

Sydney College of Arts will remain independent after the University of Sydney told students it was terminating the agreement with UNSW.

The two universities announced only last month that they would merge their art schools to create a joint centre f​or visual art and design from next year.  The new centre would have combined Sydney College of Arts (SCA) to merge and UNSW Art and Design. The independent National Art School was also in discussions about joining a new school of excellence.
