With a price tag of $8.5 million, all eyes will be on Bendigo Art Gallery’s new contemporary wing as it is proudly revealed with a day of free public programs planned for Saturday 15 March.

Architects Fender Katsalidis, the firm who designed Hobart’s famous MONA, have again created a strong visual statement – one that sits in contrast with the original gallery building, which opened in 1890. Using recycled ironbark beams, weathered Corten steel and glass, a dramatic look has been created for the new wing – both outside and in.
