MCA lights the way from London to Sydney

What sets Light Show apart from the barrage of exhibitions flooding our galleries, seemingly a savvy idea for the year of the light? Will the UK blockbuster sustain Sydney audiences?

It sold out when it opened at London’s Hayward Gallery last year, bolstered by ​outstanding reviews; and it drew record attendances at the Auckland Art Gallery before arriving in Sydney. Expectations are understandably high then for this big budget, technically demanding exhibition, Light Show, which opens this weekend at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA).
