Politically charged artwork wins this year’s Telstra Award

The winners have been announced for Australia’s most prestigious award for Indigenous art, and the top work goes to an installation about youth incarceration.

South Australian artists Anwar Young, Frank Young and Unrupa Rhonda Dick have won the major prize at the 2017 Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Awards (NATSIAA) tonight, Australia’s most prestigious Indigenous art prize presented by Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory (MAGNT).
