Described as a maverick, an eccentric, a visionary, a rogue, and one of the best in the business, Brisbane-born art dealer and gallerist Ray Hughes has died aged 72.

Tributes from artists and fellow dealers flooded social medial channels, recognising Hughes’ contribution to Australian art, and more importantly, his passion for hearty discussion about art.
