Express Yourself 2017 & Rod Milgate: Tribute

EXPRESS YOURSELF 2017

Artworks by HSC Visual Arts students from 20 high schools across Sydney’s Northern Beaches region, represent diverse bodies of work including multi-media, digital, sculpture, graphics and drawing. In conjunction with Express Yourself, two awards are granted annually to students featured in the exhibition; Manly Art Gallery & Museum Society Youth Art Award and the Theo Batten Bequest Youth Art Award, awarded to a student continuing tertiary study in the arts. This exhibition is part of ARTMONTH, Sydney.

ROD MILGATE: TRIBUTE

A tribute exhibition revealing the work of one of Sydney’s most influential art teachers and artists, Rod Milgate (1934-2014). Milgate’s personal connection to the Northern Beaches region was profound and continuous for over two decades. Paintings from MAG&M’s collection and from the artist’s estate will give audiences an opportunity for renewed appreciation of his complex narrative and allegorical paintings.
