Monika Scarrabelotti is an emerging Sydney artist. Her evocative figurative sculptures are an exploration of sensuality, expression and the human condition. Scarrabelotti received a BFA at the National Art School in 2013 and recently completed her MFA in sculpture at the same school (2017) where she teaches life modelling in clay.
Working from a life model, participants in this class will learn to model the figure in clay using an armature, then proceed to make a waste mold and cast their sculpture in plaster. Particular emphasis will be given to manipulating the clay to articulate and bring to life the human form.
Some prior experience with drawing from the life model will be an advantage
