South Australian based Textile Artists are invited to submit an Expression of Interest for a six month residency (July – December 2020) to deliver a program of skills development workshops and engage with community members to create textile public artwork to be exhibited in the entrance foyer of City of Marion's redeveloped Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre (MPSCC).
The aim of the residency is to create a storytelling public artwork to enhance the identity of the building that reflects the local community and landscape. The guiding principles for the public artwork strongly considers how the work engages with people, how ideas are translated, scale and opportunities for discovery, playfulness, surprise and speculation – not only upon initial visit but after repeat visits.
Submissions are encouraged from Textile Artists who have experience working with diverse communities, are self-directed, and are willing to actively work alongside the project stakeholders.
To Apply: Refer to the Artist Brief document for details.
Expression of Interest must be received by 5pm Monday 6 April, 2020
