Expressions of Interest (EOI) are now open for Moreland City Council's 2021 RenuWall Program. Now in its second year, the program is designed to beautify our city and public spaces, to engage our arts community in meaningful public artwork and address graffiti hotspots in Moreland.
Through an extensive scoping study and community consultation, five sites have been identified across Moreland as ideal sites for large scale murals for the RenuWall project. The chosen walls have great public exposure and high foot traffic.
Submissions will be required to respond to the specific themes and backgrounds outlined in the Guidelines below as well as more universal themes of sustainability, community and/or history. Artists are not required to respond to themes literally or figuratively – abstract expressions are also welcomed. The designs are not expected to be fully finished works but they should clearly indicate the proposed idea. Due to the differing scale and logistical requirements, each site has a different fee attached.
How To Apply:
Eligible artists or artist collectives are encouraged to apply via Moreland City Council’s online Smarty Grants administration system. Applicants are welcome to apply for as many sites as they like but must submit a separate design submission per site. You must read the RenuWall 2021 EOI guidelines before submitting an application. Follow the website link to read more.
