Brisbane City Council is creating more to see and do by helping deliver thousands of markets, festivals and events each year.
First held in 2018, Botanica - Contemporary art outside is quickly establishing itself as Brisbane’s premier outdoor contemporary art event. For the first time, Botanica is calling for expressions of interest from suitably qualified artists, designers, architects, creative collectives and collaborators to participate in Botanica 2020.
Botanica aims to create experiences that promote connection, inclusion, understanding, participation and sensory involvement. To achieve this, Council aims to invest in art that is contemporary, and has a multi-layered approach to meaning and production (e.g. participatory or multimedia works, or works with unconventional themes, experimentation and surprise). Staged within Queensland’s heritage City Botanic Gardens, Botanica aims to be a genuinely creative and transformational public art festival.
Submissions close 23 September.
To apply, visit the Botanica page on the Brisbane City Council website.
