Brisbane City Council is strengthening Brisbane’s liveability as a vibrant creative hub and ensuring Brisbane will be the premier location for artistic talent to live, work and play.
Brisbane City Council is now inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified artists to create a site responsive artwork on The Platform.
Located adjacent to the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre, The Platform is a 2.4 metre by 2.4 metre low plinth complete with hold-down points, lights and the capacity to accommodate a two-tonne load.
Made from charcoal-coloured concrete and embedded within a native-species garden, The Platform recedes, allowing the commissioned artwork to both nestle in the garden and/or stand alone.
Commissioned artworks temporarily reside (maximum 12 months) on The Platform before being permanently located within the gardens.
Submissions close 23 September.
To apply, visit The Platform page on the Brisbane City Council website.
