The Platform - Submissions now open

Want to contribute to Australia’s newest sculptural commission and see your work in the idyllic setting of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens Mt Coot-tha?

Brisbane City Council is now inviting expressions of interest from suitably qualified artists to create a site responsive artwork on the Platform.

It is a 2.4 metre by 2.4 metre low plinth complete with hold-down points, lights and the capacity to accommodate a five tonne load.

Made from charcoal coloured concrete and embedded within a native-species garden, The Platform recedes allowing the commissioned artwork to both nestle in the garden and/or stand alone.

Commissioned artworks temporarily reside (maximum 12 months) on The Platform before being permanently located within the gardens.

Submissions close 26 October
