EOI's sought for $35,000 public artwork in Wagga park

Wagga Wagga City Council is seeking Expressions of Interest from artists for a robust artwork to be installed within a small neighbourhood park in the suburb of Kooringal, Wagga Wagga. Proposals will be accepted for sculptural works and other ‘hard’ infrastructure artworks that are located in the park

The word ‘Wilga’ is a Wiradjuri word meaning “timber that is crooked and twisted,” and may also refer to the Wilga tree (Geijera parviflora).

Given its proximity to a community centre and Kooringal High School, the park is a popular site of play for local young people.

Wilga Park features a basketball ring, but with the absence of other play equipment, proposals that encourage interaction and play are encouraged.
