Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is offering artists, designers and creative teams the opportunity to develop five unique public artworks to be located along the Hastings River in Wauchope NSW.
The Hastings River is central to the history of Wauchope. It sustained the Biripai people who lived on its banks long before European settlers arrived and later ensured Wauchope’s status as a trading hub for timber and dairy. Timber from Wauchope was used in the construction of the Sydney Opera House and Circular Quay.
The establishment of this new Sculpture Trail presents a unique opportunity to tell community stories in a creative and inspirational manner that creates a legacy to the Wauchope community and the Hastings.
Expressions of interest close 12 July 2020.
