2020 Hill End Artist in Residence Program Call Out

Visual artists, writers, curators, musicians, and film/video artists are invited to apply for the 2020 season of residencies at Hill End.

A beacon for artists since the 1940s Hill End’s distinctive blend of landscape, gold-mining history and vernacular architecture continue to attract generations of artists.

The award-winning Hill End Artists in Residence Program occupies a unique place in the Australian visual arts landscape.

The Residency allows Australian and international artists the chance to experience and respond to the site of Hill End.

Hill End is a small former gold mining town in New South Wales, Australia, situated in an upland valley 84km north west of Bathurst. Just over 4 hours’ drive from Sydney CBD, the village is not accessible via public transport.

Successful applicants spend four weeks living and working in either Haefligers or Murrays Cottage during the period March 2020 to March 2021.

Applications close Thursday 31 October 2019.
