2019 Naracoorte National Art Prize

The 2019 Naracoorte National Art Prize is being held to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the discovery of megafauna fossil remains in the world heritage Naracoorte Caves.

This initiative has been commended by Sir David Attenborough. Artists are invited to submit a 2D work on the theme "Mega Fauna, Fossils & Caves - an Artistic Exploration".  A wide range of artistic expression and mediums is being encouraged.  The opening of the exhibition and announcement of the winners will be staged in Blanche Cave, Naracoorte, in September 2019. The prize pool will be $12,000 with the first prize of $10,000 being acquisitive. 

Closing date for entries is July 12th, 2019.  

Following the opening in Blanche Cave on September 21st, 2019, the exhibition will move to the Naracoorte Regional Art Gallery from September 22 to October 27th, 2019.
