Mural Opportunities Currently Seeking Expressions of Interest

The City of Canada Bay is committed to providing high quality places that support and enhance our community experience. As part of this commitment we are seeking to appoint an artist to re-imagine two community selected sites around the City:

  • 1st Cabarita Mortlake Scout Hall in Central Park, Concord — download the brief here.

Opportunity for Artists

Expressions of Interest are sought from artists to design and install a mural artworks on around the walls to create engagement and deter tagging and unwanted graffiti. These projects aim to achieve public art that resonates with the natural environment and local culture encouraging linking of history, community and the physical space including the trees and parkland.

You will be able to use the whole wall. The local community from the scout group and the local church are keen to be involved in the delivery of the design and opportunities for engaging this group should be considered.

Interested artists are invited to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) with a maximum of 10 images. Your submission should provide the following:

  • Images of previous public art and relevant projects completed
  • Current curriculum vitae
  • Written or visual description of the proposed approach to this public artwork (maximum 250 words)
  • Copy of current public liability and professional indemnity insurances  (must have a $20 million coverage)

Project Budget

The budget for this project is between $5,000–$10,000 depending upon the site and size of the mural.
