Cumberland Council is looking for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artist/s to conceive, design and produce a public artwork for The Granville Centre, Council’s new $22 million arts, cultural and community centre due for completion mid-2020. This artwork will be integrated into the ceiling of the main entrance foyer of the Granville Centre.
The purpose of the project is to commission a distinctive contemporary public artwork reflecting the Aboriginal history of the area and Cumberland’s First Peoples’ living culture, serving as a signature focal point of the Granville Centre.
This current stage, Stage 1 Expression of Interest (EOI) calls for submitting artist/s to provide a brief concept idea and supporting information for assessment. Artist/s who are successful in this Stage 1 EOI will be shortlisted for progression to the project’s next stage.
Full project detail and an outline of the stages of artist development and commissioning is detailed in the Project Brief on the council website.
