The AAIA 2019 Contempory Creative Residency in Athens, Greece

Founded in 2014 the award is open to professional Australian artists and writers - emerging and established - working in literary or visual media whose creative practices demonstrate an interest in contemporary, modern, medieval or ancient Greek culture.

The award offers private room accommodation for the month of December at the AAIA Hostel located at the base of the Acropolis and access to shared dedicated research areas.

In addition to accommodation, the award holder receives the support of AAIA toward securing access to museum collections, archives, archaeological sites and libraries in Athens and broader Greece.

The Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens is a member of the diverse contemporary research community comprising 17 Foreign Schools and Institutes providing a international creative, academic and social environment for Australian artists, writers, researchers and scholars.
