Common Threads Woven Through Community Programme fosters a spirited environment in partnership with The Sound Temple to celebrate sustainability, creative arts, cultural experiences, performance, workshops, temporary exhibitions and installations.
The signature event Common Threads Woven Through Community is held annually throughout the month of May with a strong focus on sustainability, conscious fashion choices and the exploration of textile traditional skills. Sharing knowledge, craft and skills, exhibition and interactive presentations- are the focus and followed by smaller events that run throughout the year.
Our 2020 theme embraces the inter connection of our living world the seen and unseen “The Pollination of Life” exploring the underlying connections between, artists, creatives, sustainable enterprises and movements.
This process is open to artists and crafts people working across mediums of textiles, basketry, found object, sculptures, oudoor installation to embrace and explore the 2020 theme and values of the programme.
We invite passionate people to respond and or collaborate to the current 2020 theme which embraces the inter connection of our living world the seen and unseen “The Pollination of Life” exploring the underlying connections between, artists, creatives, sustainable enterprises and movements.
Expressions of interest are open to
- Lead artist collaboration for interactive community sculptural works - Residency with Accommodation
- Textile artist to exhibit in the Exhibition
- Artist to Facilitate Workshops across a range of mediums that relate to the 2020 theme
- Film Makers / Photographers to screen works/short film and opportunity to document the programmme
- Performance Artist interested in Cross Collaboration
