Deviator Artist Callout

BREC CALLS FOR LOCAL ARTISTS TO PARTICIPATE IN REVOLUTIONARY PERFORMANCE.

BREC and pvi collective will present deviator; an exciting new work that will transform the Bunbury CBD into a playground. Over the course of an hour, using a pvi issued smartphone, participants (or deviators) seek out hidden audio instructions and are encouraged to perform playful interventions and interactions as part of a large-scale game.

pvi collective is looking for ten local artists to deliver games to participants during each performance. Games will be tailored to the performing artists and customised to meet their own personality and performance skills.

“We have worked with local performers all around the world to bring ‘deviator’ to life, it’s a great way to tap into the site specific aspects of the work, and to extent our family of collaborators. The ‘deviator’ performer role suits a range of backgrounds and we’ve worked with dancers, live artists, puppeteers and actors in the past. We’re very much looking forward to selecting the Bunbury team!” says Kate Neylon, Producer at pvi collective.
