At The Australian Ballet’s Annual General Meeting in Melbourne today (Friday 24 May), Chairman Craig Dunn announced that the company’s Artistic Director, David McAllister AM, has decided to retire at the end of 2020, his 20th year in the role.

‘David has taken The Australian Ballet to new heights during his two decades as Artistic Director,’ Dunn said in a statement. ‘He has decided that his 20th anniversary year is the right time to hand on the artistic directorship of the company he joined as a dancer straight out of The Australian Ballet School in 1983.
