Elizabeth Ann Macgregor OBE began her career driving a converted bus. As a curator for the Scottish Arts Council’s travelling gallery she took exhibitions to local villages, inner city estates, schools, hospitals and prisons.

That passion for sharing art with new audiences has remained central to her mantra, and when she moved to Sydney in 1999 to take up the reigns of the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA) as its Director, one of the first deals she stitched up was with Telstra in 2000 to introduce free admission to the gallery.
