Titled Raising the Rattler Pole – the last of the Connies, the work was commissioned by the City of Melbourne Public Art Program, costing them $360,000.

The tram is an actual size recreation of the last W-class tram from 1956: the 1040. It is tilted at 10 degrees from the vertical, jutting out of the ground as though emerging from a tar pit. When it gets dark the headlights glow and the windows light up, hinting at activities taking place inside.
