‘Irreversible’ damage to Melbourne mural

Vandals have wreaked devastating damage and conservators say they may not be able to restore the damaged mural.

A heritage-listed Keith Haring mural on Johnston Street, Collingwood was tagged by vandals last weekend, causing the most extensive damage in the mural’s 31-year history.

Conservators from the Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation (CCMC)  who have assessed the damage say it is significant and may be irreversible.
