A program for artists has spun off from the much broader Vibrant Laneways Program, initiated as part of Brisbane’s City Centre Master Plan (2006 & 2013) to better utilise the city’s assets.

Neighbourhood Planning Chairman Amanda Cooper said the Vibrant Laneways program was successfully creating vibrant, accessible spaces to provide opportunity for pedestrian and business activation. ‘We have bold aspirations for making Brisbane one of the greatest public art cities, with culture and art around every corner,’ said Cr Cooper.
