Giselle Stanborough Opbra, 2013; Participatory performance, 1 hour; supplied

This week artists Frances Barrett (NSW), Giselle Stanborough (NSW) and Sally Rees (TAS) were named the recipients of Suspended Moment: The Katthy Cavaliere Fellowship, each awarded $100,000 to realise an ambitious new work.

Giselle Stanborough, who will create her first institutional solo presentation for Carriageworks in March 2020, said: ‘Obviously it is life changing … No one ever wants to lose the emerging/early career hat – but then I thought, when am I going to get to that [next] level?’
