In order to pursue a career as a professional artist it is important to document your artwork professionally. The quality of the presentation of your artistic output can determine the future of your career and is essential to secure exhibitions, grants and other professional opportunities. Educators will find this workshop useful for guiding students in professional photography skills and for documenting student work for assessment, reporting, digital delivery, or exhibition purposes.
This course will introduce the basic skills required to successfully photograph artwork for print and promotion. It will cover:
- Digital capture: basic camera skills (aperture shutter speed control, ISO rating and white balance), basic lighting techniques.
- Basic editing of photographs in Photoshop, import and export of digital images and file handling.
Workshop Requirements: Basic familiarity with camera equipment and Photoshop (or similar). You will also need access to Photoshop on your personal computer.
