Solo exhibition of new paintings, drawings and sculptures by Anthony Williams.
Working ostensibly with traditional subjects like the figure, trees and landscapes, Williams is interested in the process of creating ordered structure from the complex lines and colours apparent in any given scene.
Drawing heavily from fauvist painters, as well as constructivist sculpture, Williams’ eschews using colour to only define or represent forms. His images comprise of beautifully rich and beguiling swathes of paint whilst his sculptures extend them beyond the flat, two-dimensional surface, together creating a vibrant and dynamic visual experience.
