FED UNI’S GUIRGUIS NEW ART PRIZE FINALISTS ANNOUNCED!
Recognised as a prestigious national contemporary art prize, the Guirguis New Art Prize is set to ramp up Ballarat’s art scene with a selection of contemporary Australian artists exhibiting new and exciting work in the regional centre.
Now in its fourth iteration, this prestigious $20,000 prize exhibition will showcase artists from Victoria, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory, Queensland and Tasmania, at Federation University Australia’s Post Office Gallery and the Art Gallery of Ballarat, from 30 March to 2 June, formally opening Fri 5 April.
The finalists are Karen Mills and Neridah Stockley from the Northern Territory, Janet Fieldhouse, Grace Lillian Lee, Naomi Hobson, Shirley Macnamara and Claudia Moodoonuthi from Queensland; Amanda Davies and Tricky Walsh from Tasmania; Nicola Smith and Caroline Garcia from New South Wales; Marie Hagerty and Raquel Ormella from ACT, and Laresa Kosloff, Benjamin Armstrong and Matt Hinkley from Victoria.
