Come down to the Rockingham Foreshore and view the exhibition. See sculptures made by Western Australian artists; all created with recycled materials to highlight the importance of recycling and reducing the amount of materials that end up in landfill.
Castaways comprises three exhibitions: the Main Exhibition on the Rockingham Foreshore, the Schools Exhibition in Churchill Park and the Maquette and Small Sculpture Exhibition located at the Rockingham Arts Centre on Kent Street, a short walk from the foreshore. Sculptures are available for purchase.
Vote for your favourite sculpture for a chance to win the $500 Fremantle Ports Voter's Prize.
Love taking photos? Snap a photo of your favourite sculpture and share it to Instagram or Facebook with the #CastawaysRockingham. Two winners will be selected - with a $100 voucher to Rustico Tapas and Wine Bar in Rockingham, and a $100 Ace Cinemas Rockingham voucher, up for grabs. The competition closes 4pm Monday 2 November. Terms and conditions apply.
Beach access matting will be available for the duration of Castaways, to help people view the sculptures on the sand. This is especially good for people with disability, seniors, and parents using prams. Beach wheelchairs and beach walkers are available for people to loan free of charge. These are available on a first come, first served basis from the Information Tent at the foreshore between 9am-5pm. Catalogues will also be available from the Information Tent.
