Christian Thompson - Ritual Intimacy Artist's Talk

Dr Christian Thompson is a Bidjara contemporary artist whose work explores notions of identity, cultural hybridity, and history; often referring to the relationships between these concepts and the environment. Thompson’s multidisciplinary practice engages mediums such as photography, video, sculpture, performance, and sound. His work focuses on the exploration of identity, sexuality, gender, race, and memory.

The exhibition, Ritual Intimacy, surveys Thompson’s diverse practice, spanning fifteen years, and will also be accompanied by the publication of the first monograph on the artist’s career and work.

Developed by Monash University Museum of Art (MUMA), the exhibition will feature a major new commission created for this exhibition.

Artist's Talk: Sunday, 19 May 2019 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm (AWST).
